The third decade of the 21st century brings new and expansive global sustainability challenges. Managers, policymakers, academics, citizens, and consumers will have to make seemingly contradictory decisions to accelerate demand, and at the same time promote savings. Maria Alejandra Gonzalez-Perez (PhD) is a Full Professor of Management at Universidad EAFIT, Colombia. She was the Vice-President of Administration at the Academy of Inter-national Business (AIB) (2015-2018) and the regional chapter chair for Latin America and the Caribbean (AIB-LAC) (2018-2021); Member of the global council of the Sustainable Development Goal number 1 (SDG 1: End Poverty) of the World Government Summit (WGS) (2018-2020), and coordinator of the Colombian universities in the virtual institute of the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) (2009-2019).
