Addressing 21st-century challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss and growing inequalities requires deep transformations across our economies and businesses. Annekatrin Meißner, Suleika Bort, and Erinch Sahan adress this issue by illustrating how the ›deep design‹ of business – embodied in models of governance, networks, ownership, and finance – can foster ecologically regenerative and socially distributive strategies. Through exploring 14 real-world businesses from German-speaking countries, the authors demonstrate how restructuring these core elements allows businesses to dynamically move beyond traditional models, encourage innovation and enable deeper partnerships. Using Doughnut Economics as a starting point, this book explores diverse business designs that unlock essential regenerative and distributive strategies.
