Kahlil Gibran was born into a Christian family in Lebanon in 1883 and was raised in the United States. His book of poetic essays, The Prophet, is an international classic, translated into over forty languages since its debut in 1923.

Gibran’s life is retraced with a simplicity akin to that of Gibran’s own writing, through his letters, his publisher’s archives, and unpublished documents, revealing the extent of his influence on statesmen and fellow citizens alike, and the extraordinary message of peace and hope in all of his work.

Alexandre Najjar was born in Lebanon in 1967 and works as a lawyer.
