The Power of Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes in English Acquisition focuses on the ways that teaching Latin and Greek roots can inform English language teaching classroom practice.

The book provides multilingual learners of English with a powerful framework to develop students’ vocabulary. Students with diverse language backgrounds will have opportunities to examine elements of language structure (including common expressions and idioms), understand how languages work, giving them control over the lexicon and the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations.

This book targets the vocabulary that dominates science, medicine, and technology; law and criminal justice, and higher education and professional fields, which makes it easy to position as a college-and-career readiness resource.
